Root Creek Water District will provide the wastewater disposal system for the project. Wastewater treatment facilities will be constructed in multiple phases. During the initial phases, project wastewater will be collected and treated to disinfected secondary standards, suitable for land application to a variety of edible and non-edible crops. Wastewater in later phases will be treated by an on-site treatment plant using biological and chemical processes to achieve tertiary-quality effluent meeting State Water Quality Standards for unrestricted use. All wastewater will be reused for irrigation within Root Creek Water District. RCWD can also provide wastewater collection and treatment services to areas located to the south of Gateway Village that are located within the District boundaries.
Additional details are provided in the Infrastructure Master Plan.
