Hogle-Ireland, Inc. has been awarded the contract to lead the consultant team for the City of Hawaiian Gardens Urban Trail/Park Project. The project involves converting an existing open trapezoidal drainage channel into a closed conduit drain with a trail/park constructed over the closed channel. This unique and exciting project will provide the City with the opportunity for new passive park land. The project consists of planning and project management, engineering, landscape architecture, environmental review and community outreach. Hogle-Ireland is the lead consultant in preparing all components related to planning and design development of the urban trail/park over the existing storm drain channel. Through community workshops led by Hogle-Ireland, Inc., the design team was able to create a variety of alternatives for the Hawaiian Gardens Urban Trail for further City review and public input. Most importantly the concrete channel will be transformed into a trail with trees, plants, pedestrian friendly design, and a variety of aesthetic features.
