Hogle-Ireland, Inc. served as the design and development consultant to the City of Laguna Hills for the Urban Village Specific Plan. This project created an "Urban Village" of pedestrian-friendly areas and mixed uses surrounding an already established regional mall and regional hospital with surrounding medical offices, and Orange County Transit Center. This project's objectives are an increase in retail, entertainment, dining and housing opportunities and promotion of alternative transportation opportunities to those living in and visiting the Urban Village. The project was completed and adopted by the City Council in 2003 and is being implemented. This project received an American Planning Association (APA) award in 2003.
