Hogle-Ireland – Going Solar!
Hogle-Ireland worked with Recurrent Energy, a San Francisco-based solar energy provider, to obtain approvals and permits for new solar photovoltaic energy installations at several existing Kaiser Permanente medical facilities across Southern California. Solar installations have been constructed at Kaiser Permanente facilities in the Cities of Cudahy, Downey, Irvine, Fontana, San Diego, La Mesa, Lancaster, Vallejo, and Bellflower.
In order to add solar photovoltaic systems to an existing developed medical facility, a variety of solar installations were provided at each campus. Solar photovoltaic carport-type systems were constructed over existing parking lots, on the top level of parking structures, and on vacant land adjacent to the Kaiser facilities. In addition to producing clean energy, the solar carports provide the benefit of shaded parking areas often exposed to excess sunlight and heat.
Kaiser Permanente’s solar program was designed to reduce their carbon footprint by 30% by the year 2020 through the use of solar energy and to “… raise the bar of environmental performance … to benefit the health of our communities and the environment.”
Hogle-Ireland is proud of our projects with Recurrent Energy and Kaiser Permanente to help create a greener tomorrow.
